rc helicopters shoots and what hobby should I take interest in? Airsoft guns or Rc Helicopters?

rc helicopters shoots:

Question by futuregeek1: what hobby should I take interest in? Airsoft guns or Rc Helicopters?
I might like airsoft more, but I don’t really have any friends that play with airsoft. And It would be boring just shooting trees. Also, I’ve always taken an interest in rc helicopters. So which one?

Looking for a hobby magazine that is strictly about radio controlled model helicopters?

Question by david3flush: Looking for a hobby magazine that is strictly about radio controlled model helicopters?
I am looking for a hobby magazine that’s just about radio controlled helicopters. I have a copy of Fly RC, and it looks good, but it covers radio controlled model airplanes mostly. Sense R/C helicopters are much harder to master, it looks like there would be a hobby magazine that is devoted to the radio controlled helicopter hobby. Ideally I would like a magazine that would not only cater to the experienced R/C helicopter pilots, but would help the newbies like myself as well. There are just so many models out there for the beginner to chose from. The Chinese imports alone are too numerous to count, and their affordable! Then there are the hop-up parts, a whole cottage industry has sprung up around, making improvements in the basic Chinese imports. Can anybody give me an Internet site that will list all of the radio controlled helicopter hobby magazines? I know there must be several out there.

I’d like to get my son building radio controlled cars. Is there a good kit for getting started in this hobby?

Question by digginlife: I’d like to get my son building radio controlled cars. Is there a good kit for getting started in this hobby?
I’m looking for a kit that you build from scratch. He’s only 8, but can follow a manual closely.. he builds lego robot for ages 14 and up. So something that would challenge him a bit, but he could be successful at. Can you recommend one?

We always went to a hobby shop that specialized in that sort of thing for my brother and they had skill numbers on them. Also try Radio Shack. I know my parents got a few cars there but I don’t know how much work my brother actually did on them. I know that it cost quite the pretty penny to do the cars, and my brother and dad loved to demolish them shortly afterwards. They definitely have more power than the ones you get at the toy store. Remotes tend to come seperate though, but can be used for mulitple cars, and the chargers are also sold seperately. It was neat though because they would just go and get the part they needed to fix it. I can’t remember any exact brand names, but I know he built a mustang as his first and a few trucks, then got into the gas powered ones.

Edit
Try looking up Hobby Shops for your local area on Yellowpages.com

Here is a website for a local shop near me, you can order from there online http://h1070362.hobbyshopnow.com/products/categories.asp?tag=dir

Can I get into the radio controlled helicopter hobby for 200 dollars?

Question by david3flush: Can I get into the radio controlled helicopter hobby for 200 dollars?
I am keenly interested in the radio controlled helicopter hobby. My question is this, can a beginner with no experience get into this hobby for around 200 dollars? I have seen compleat,” ready to fly kits “, on eBay selling for as little as $ 117.00, new! ” the Dragon 22E “. Which is an electric powered R/C helicopter, is this model a good beginners R/C helicopter kit ? The seller claims that everything needed to start flying is included in this kit package, is this true? Has anyone purchased this, or a similar kit ?
Since first posting this question, I have learned a lot about radio controlled helicopters. ” THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS AREADY TO FLY ” R/C helicopter. You need to understand how to set up your new R/C helio, before that first flight, and it is also good to understand how the real thing flys,” How Things Work.com is a good place to learn that “. You also need to be able, analyze what happened just before a crash,” and you will crash many times”, before becoming a top R/C helio pilot. You also need dealer, and company surport, + AFFORDABLE SPARE PARTS.

WOOOOOOO slow down man!!!Have you ever flown a R/C plane? You will never be able to fly a helecopter trust me.I fly the planes and they are extremely hard to learn at 1st.You could probably get a used one off ebay for that money, but i garunty even your local hobby shop guy will guide you away from flying a helecopter, you can also see if your hobby shop has a flight simulater, most do and try flying one one there. But if you’ve made your mind up and are going to get one i would suggest ebay or ..http://rcuniverse.com or http://rcjunkyards.com they have forums there to ask questions on ,also used rc items for sale.Good luck, and happy flying=)
