What paint can I use on a radio controlled airplane?
Question by bozo: What paint can I use on a radio controlled airplane?
I have a dirty birdy radio controlled airplane that is thirty plus years old. I believe I painted the body with a product called hobby poxy which is no longer in bussiness. Any suggestion as to what needs to be done to repaint this airplane? Keep in mind that it will need to withstand spills of model airplane fuel of at least ten percent nitro ( in other words it needs to be fuel proof).

I bought some a Hobby Town USA….The brand is Aero Gloss, hot fuel proof. We used to call it airplane dope.

Can anyone help me find a good radio controlled (remote controlled) airplane?
Question by Joseph: Can anyone help me find a good radio controlled (remote controlled) airplane?
I am looking for a good, and nice radio controlled airplane. I like something like a boing 747 or a jet, but am opern to anything that flies high and isof a good quality. It must be something that needs no, or very little assembly, and is less then $ 75 but I will take a look at anything of any price. My mother lives on a large farm, and so I would have plenty of space to fly it. If there are any good websites to go to or you have personal experiances with this type of plane, or hobby please help me! I am new to this but very excited about it

You may first want to start out with a flight simulator to learn how to fly. It is very difficult to learn but worthwhile once you do. They run for around $ 199 for a decent one. The next step is setting a budget because the type of plane you want will be expensive. The planes under $ 100 are frankly garbage.

b-52 radio controlled airplane:
Question by T-man T (suspended): Will this get published?
this is just a short exccerpt from my chapter in my book…..just want ur opinions thanks
Marshall inside his cockpit was getting apprehensive, but not nervous. This would be the most powerful rocket plane he has ridden to date. His job was to test some interface system for a new upcoming NASA mission, and some powerful rocket engines at the same time. To pass the time, Marshall listened to music on his ipod he brought with. Yes, it is unprofessional, but Marshall had ridden so many rocket planes, test flights were now routine to him. But what he really longed for was to be in NASA. To be the best of the best, not best of the rest. He had applied three times, and failed twice.
“Ignition in T-minus 60 seconds,” Jose squawked like a lunch lady from high school on the radio.
Marshall sighed. “Ok, let’s do this,” Marshall whispered to himself, and slid his helmet visor down, the shadow created slithered over his tan face and sleek black hair. He watched patiently the seconds count down to zero. When one turned to zero, a sudden shudder rocked the airplane as the aircraft was freed from the wing pylon. He looked up out the bubble canopy glass and watched as B-52 slowly drifted away. It was quiet, save for the sound of wind bristling the cockpit canopy, for the sleek black aircraft was now soaring through the air like a giant eagle of steel. The whole world seemed still and peaceful, the quiet before the storm. Marshall then turned his vision forward to the great expanse in front of him. The sight was astounding. To be that high and watch all of the land below him, the desert, the fine line where the desert meets the forest, spying on the people in cars on their way to the city. He felt like a king, watching with noble and pleased eyes over his vast kingdom. But Marshall knew his real mission was not to have visions of grander, he leaned forward and flipped open the ignition button protection. And with this one quivering finger, Marshall hit the green ignition button and shoved the throttle forward, unleashing the fury of the storm. Now a teeth rattling hit shook the aircraft; the rocket engines were on. Marshall felt his body pressed against his seat from the force of the acceleration, and heard the high pitched scream of the rockets blasting the aircraft forward. When the engines reached their maximum thrust capacity, he watched the clouds zoom by, like the hash marks on a road when you’re going 65. The speed dials spun out of control, like a compass surrounded by magnets. Here he was, probably going faster than any human has ever gone, his aircraft splitting the air, slicing through clouds. Marshall heaved back on the control stick, pointing the aircraft towards the heavens. He looked back; the land was very far away now, looking hazy behind the veil of clouds. Even at such a dangerous height and speed, he gallantly pressed on. Now almost in space, Marshall could see the lustrous blue halo covering the curvature of the Earth, growing little by little, and the luminous moon ahead of him, the lighthouse of space. Almost out of Earth’s grasp, almost an astronaut, almost space traveler. He was teetering on the edge of a dream. Every month he would come so close to his dream, to go to space, yet every month his aircraft would collapse before the finish line, sputter and whine before crawling back to its den in the hanger. As time went by, and the acceleration turned slowed, and the scream of the engine stopped, Marshall felt his body thrown forward by the force of deceleration. His blood pressure lowered and he felt cold from all of the adrenaline. Sighing, he pointed the nose of the aircraft down to the ground and prepared for landing. “whoooooot, what a ride!” He screamed out no one, “whooot what a ride!”

I’m sorry. I can’t say for sure, but I wouldn’t publish it. It’s not very well written at all.
The problems are mainly that you’re switching between tenses, your sentences don’t flow very nicely, and the story advances too quickly.

frankfurt radio controlled and are you afraid to fly in an airplane?
frankfurt radio controlled:
Question by Barbara L: are you afraid to fly in an airplane?
i sure am… ever since 911….
Exchanges overheard between pilots and control towers:
————————- ————————- ————————- —–
Tower: “Delta 351, you have traffic at 10 o’clock, 6 miles!”
Delta 351: “Give us another hint! We have digital watches!”
————————- ————————- ————————- —–
Tower: “TWA 2341, for noise abatement turn right 45 Degrees.”
TWA 2341: “Center, we are at 35,000 feet. How much noise can we make up here?”
Tower: “Sir, have you ever heard the noise a 747 makes when it hits a 727?”

From an unknown aircraft waiting in a very long takeoff queue: “I’m f…ing bored!”
Ground Traffic Control: “Last aircraft transmitting, identify yourself immediately!”
Unknown aircraft: “I said I was f…ing bored, not f…ing stupid!”

O’Hare Approach Control to a 747: “United 329 heavy, your traffic is a Fokker, one o’clock, three miles, Eastbound.”
United 329: “Approach, I’ve always wanted to say this. I’ve got the little Fokker in sight.”

A student became lost during a solo cross-country flight. While attempting to locate the aircraft on radar, ATC asked, “What was your last known position?”
Student: “When I was number one for takeoff.”

A DC-10 had come in a little hot and thus had an exceedingly long roll out after touching down.
San Jose Tower noted: “American 751, make a hard right turn at the end of the runway, if you are able. If you are not able, take the Guadeloupe exit off Highway 101, make a right at the lights and return to the airport.”
————————- ————————- ————————- —–
Tower: “Eastern 702, cleared for takeoff, contact Departure on frequency 124.7.”
Eastern 702: “Tower, Eastern 702 switching to Departure. By the way, after we lifted off we saw some kind of dead animal on the far end of the runway.”
Tower: “Continental 635, cleared for takeoff behind Eastern 702, contact Departure on frequency 124.7. Did you copy that report from Eastern 702?”
BR Continental 635: “Continental 635, cleared for takeoff, roger; and yes, we copied Eastern. We’ve already notified our caterers.”

One day the pilot of a Cherokee 180 was told by the tower to hold short of the active runway while a DC-8 landed. The DC-8 landed, rolled out, turned around, and taxied back past the Cherokee. Some quick-witted comedian in the DC-8 crew got on the radio and said, “What a cute little plane. Did you make it all by yourself?”
The Cherokee pilot, not about to let the insult go by, came back with a real zinger: “I made it out of DC-8 parts. Another landing like yours and I’ll have enough parts for another one.”

The German air controllers at Frankfurt Airport are renowned as a short-tempered lot. They not only expect one to know one’s gate parking location, but how to get there without any assistance from them. So it was with some amusement that we (a Pan Am 747) listened to the following exchange between Frankfurt ground control and a British Airways 747, call sign Speedbird 206.
Speedbird 206: ” Frankfurt, Speedbird 206 clear of active runway.”
Ground: “Speedbird 206. Taxi to gate Alpha One-Seven.”
The BA 747 pulled onto the main taxiway and slowed to a stop.
Ground: “Speedbird, do you not know where you are going?”
Speedbird 206: “Stand by, Ground, I’m looking up our gate location now.”
Ground round (with quite arrogant impatience): “Speedbird 206, have you not been to Frankfurt before?”
Speedbird 206 (coolly): “Yes, twice in 1944, but it was dark, — and I didn’t land.”

A Pan Am 727 flight, waiting for start clearance in Munich , overheard the following:
Lufthansa (in German): “Ground, what is our start clearance time?”
Ground (in English): “If you want an answer you must speak in English.”
Lufthansa (in English): “I am a German, flying a German airplane, in Germany. Why must I speak English?”
Unknown voice from another plane (in a beautiful British accent): “Because you lost the bloody war!”
