Question by bozo: What paint can I use on a radio controlled airplane?
I have a dirty birdy radio controlled airplane that is thirty plus years old. I believe I painted the body with a product called hobby poxy which is no longer in bussiness. Any suggestion as to what needs to be done to repaint this airplane? Keep in mind that it will need to withstand spills of model airplane fuel of at least ten percent nitro ( in other words it needs to be fuel proof).

I bought some a Hobby Town USA….The brand is Aero Gloss, hot fuel proof. We used to call it airplane dope.

Question by Simba: What is the average cost of a “starter” radio controlled plane?
I am considering taking up radio controlled planes as a hobby. But I have no experience, and don’t know where to start. What is the average cost of a “starter” radio controlled plane? I mean starter, as in the first own owned to get started. What would be needed to get started? Just the plane and controller? Any tips or suggestions would be appreciated.

I got into this for a little while. Go to the local hobby shop and check out what they have. If you want real cheap, get a foam one. They are actually pretty tough and i picked one up for $ 20.

Question by Joseph: Can anyone help me find a good radio controlled (remote controlled) airplane?
I am looking for a good, and nice radio controlled airplane. I like something like a boing 747 or a jet, but am opern to anything that flies high and isof a good quality. It must be something that needs no, or very little assembly, and is less then $ 75 but I will take a look at anything of any price. My mother lives on a large farm, and so I would have plenty of space to fly it. If there are any good websites to go to or you have personal experiances with this type of plane, or hobby please help me! I am new to this but very excited about it

You may first want to start out with a flight simulator to learn how to fly. It is very difficult to learn but worthwhile once you do. They run for around $ 199 for a decent one. The next step is setting a budget because the type of plane you want will be expensive. The planes under $ 100 are frankly garbage.

Question by gavinh29: is it a good idea to learn to fly a petrol radio controlled airplane without an instructor?
i am getting a radio controlled plane for xmas and was going to try and fly it with only some written instructions off the internet and some advice from some people. I have a field i can practise in legally as its privately owned.

Is this a toy plane or one you actually sit in? if its a toy one- yeah go for it- if its a real one, then NOOOOO you dont want to risk your life!
